Now Accepting Inclusive Excellence Committee Applications
At the start of each year, the Office of DEI opens applications for faculty, staff, and students to apply for the Inclusive Excellence Committee (formerly the DEI Task Force). The IE Committee will be crucial in creating and sustaining an inclusive campus community. Members will work with the Chief Inclusive Excellence Officer and DEI Cabinet to identify, develop, and implement strategies that move our campus forward. Faculty and staff applicants should be prepared to serve at least a two-year term. A limited number of one-year terms will be available. The IE Committee will have its first meeting on Tuesday, September 10th at 1 p.m., and subsequent meetings will be held the first Monday of each month at 1 p.m. Application deadline: Friday, August 30th! Email [email protected] if you plan to apply but need an extension.
In the past, the IE Committee has worked on the following projects:
- Writing a DEI Statement
- Collaborating with Student Success to launch First Year Seminars
- Launching Universal Design for Learning Credentialing
- Supporting Faculty & Staff Affinity Groups
- Hosting the “Supporting First Generation Students in Higher Education Conference”
Projects for this year are currently being solidified. To apply, please submit a 1-page letter of interest to [email protected]. In the letter, explain your role on campus, commitment to DEI, and interest in serving on the IE Committee. All faculty (full-time and part-time), staff, and students are welcome to apply.
